Afternoon Tea - stories, recipes and cake - Saturday 15 March 2025
Join me in my inner Melbourne apartment for afternoon tea. We will share a selection of sweet things from my four cookbooks, have cups of coffee or tea and chat about Italy, the recipes made by our mothers, nonnas, neighbours and friends and the stories inspired by these. This is a lovely personal class where we make new friends who have a love of Italy (and its sweet treats).
I will be making at least three of the cakes:biscuits gluten free, to cater for those with intolerances or allergies. We will share Presnitz (walnut and raisin spiral) and chocolate crostata (from “Adriatico”), Spiced chocolate and sour cherry cake (“Istria”), Apple and ricotta strudel (“At nonna’s table”), and a selection of biscotti (aniseed chisel, lemon taralli and orange amaretti), that I will have made, for this late summer afternoon tea for fellow lovers of Italy and of home made cakes and sweets. We will start at 2.00pm and finish by 4.00pm. And there will be Prosecco if anyone would like a glass.
I would love you to bring along your memories and stories, which you are welcome to share with the group. All of my cookbooks will be available for purchase, which I will happily sign for you; so please bring cash or details for a bank transfer.

If there are fewer than 6 participants, the class will be cancelled and your money will be refunded. If you are unable to attend, I will not be able to offer a refund for special event classes such as this one. You can however transfer or gift your spot to a friend at any time.
Please note I have several flights of internal stairs and a cat called Herbie.
The event is not suitable for those who have dietary intolerances.
I will be in touch by email to give you the address in North Fitzroy and directions for the class a week beforehand. I very much look forward to sharing afternoon tea with you!
